The Venezuelan pitcher for the Houston Astros, Luis García, received this Friday from the team’s medical staff the unexpected diagnosis in which he must undergo an operation called “Tommy John” to repair a ligament in the pitching arm.
García had to leave sore from his last outing to the box. The Venezuelan felt discomfort and was withdrawn from the match when he had barely thrown eight pitches.
It was possible to know after the diagnosis that there is still no defined date for Luis García to undergo surgery to repair the damage.

However, sources close to the team have said that the right will probably be operated on early next week.
There is no exact recovery date for this operation. Recent cases such as that of Bryce Harper, surprised after his prompt return after almost seven months of rehabilitation.
Therefore, the pitcher could begin his rehabilitation in the middle of the off-season and be in tune by the middle of the 2024 Major League Baseball season.
