Parapuan.co – The 2023 SEA Games which will take place in Cambodia from 5-17 May 2023 will become the biggest sporting event in Southeast Asia.
Where at the 2023 SEA Games, there is a sport called kun bokator typical of Cambodia which is also being contested.
Reported from Tribunnewskun bokator has contributed the first medal to the Indonesian team at the 2023 SEA Games.
So, what is kun bokator sport?
Kun bokator is a traditional martial art that existed before the Khmer Empire ruled almost all of Indochina.
It turns out that bokator itself literally means “beat the lion”.
Kun bokator is almost the same as Indonesian martial arts, namely pencak silat and muay thai from Thailand.
The kun bokator movement combines boxing, elbow and knee techniques.
There is Cambodia’s first kun bokator athlete who succeeded in making his name known in the world, namely Tharoth Sam.
