Curtain up for the next round of poaching. In the last ten years, Bayern Munich have made themselves unpopular with Borussia Dortmund. The reasons for this were Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels.
Currently, however, there is a different kind of “change war” between Borussia Dortmund. In the hope of being the first to discover young talent, the scouts of the clubs are becoming increasingly important. Now one of them changes sides again.
Borussia Dortmund: Scout moves to Munich
Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland – none of them would have ended up in the Ruhr area if the Dortmund scouting department hadn’t struck early. BVB enjoys a high reputation throughout Europe because of its youth work. In order to get such talents themselves in the future, Bayern Munich relies on Dortmund insider knowledge.
As “Sport 1” reports, Martin Siegbert will move to southern Germany on July 1st. Siegbert has been working for Borussia Dortmund since 2021. He previously scouted for Hoffenheim and Cologne. With the commitment of the BVB employee, Bayern are pushing ahead with their upheaval in the scouting department.
Ex-BVB boss already in Munich
The area is to reinvent itself under Markus Pilawa. Exactly the Pilawa that Borussia Dortmund put out the door last summer. Those responsible took issue with the fact that the chief scout at the time was already negotiating with Bayern and pulled the ripcord.
From the coming season, the current Bundesliga leaders will be looking for promising jewels with twice the Dortmund power.
Borussia Dortmund got the ball rolling
A bitter loss for BVB, but it was the black and yellow who started the “scout dispute”. At the beginning of the current season, Borussia finally hooked up with Laurent Busser, who had previously worked for FCB.

Ironically, Borussia Dortmund then filled the post that had been vacated by Pilawas’ departure with the ex-Munich player. The transfer attack on the competition is no longer limited to players.
