A total of over 800 judoka from 166 clubs in Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Israel and Poland took part on both days. Saturday started with the 24th International Trade Fair Cup, a DJB U16 sighting tournament. The national coach (U18) Christopher Schwarzer observed all fighters very closely.
Four judokas from the Kano Bremerhaven judo school competed. Said Tashtamirov (37 kilos) won Kano’s first gold medal. Mansur Vakhaev (55 kilos) lost injured in the final and had to settle for silver. Ishan Dzhemaldinov ended up in fifth place. Adam Sautiev got nothing.
Zhannat Tashtamirova is the only girl to win
On Sunday the Judoka U13 started at the 29th International ega Cup.
The youngest participant from Bremerhaven, Abu-Darda Tashtamirov (10 years, 31 kilos) won a gold medal. Just like Ruslan Becker (34 kilos). Mansur Sautiev (37 kilos) lost his semifinal match and got a bronze medal.
Zhannat Tashtamirova (30 kilos) was the only girl to win a gold medal. Amina Kurbanova did not get a top ranking.
Coach Gheorghe-Laurentiu Marin was more than satisfied with the performance of his judoka: “It was a very strong and well-organized tournament with many good judoka from home and abroad.”
