Against the Lakers, Denver ticked many boxes. A resounding sweep, a first qualification in Finals and stars at the rendezvous, everything seemed perfect for the Nuggets. Now in search of a title that would be unprecedented in their history, they can however savor this impressive performance which has endorsed the overall finding of the critics: they are so far the best team in the playoffs.

If the Warriors had broken their teeth against the Lakers, the Nuggets have meanwhile made short work of it. LeBron James and his teammates just didn’t see the light of day against the Colorado men. This domination was therefore theoretically enough to make the entire workforce proud, but for all that, Nikola Jokic admits that the group did not experience this success as expected…

The victory was nice but 30 minutes later, we were just fine. I thought it would be a much bigger feeling than that, to be honest.

No excessive joy for the Nuggets, therefore, who celebrated this success as if they had just won a simple regular season game. In this statement by Nikola Jokic, we could thus develop two axes of understanding. The first, which also seems to be the least likely, would be to say that Denver felt well above the Lakers and that the victory was nothing more normal.

The second view, however, is the more plausible. Failing to celebrate qualification outrageously could actually be a real indicator of the title’s goal. Qualifying in the Finals is good, but winning them is even better. There is therefore no point in savoring too much and the appointment for the last battle is made, before being able to go on vacation with (perhaps) the NBA champion ring.

Obviously, we suspect that Mike Malone and his men are delighted to see that Miami and Boston are waging a merciless war. Pushed to Game 7, the series in the East will inevitably lose feathers to the winner while Denver will have had all the time necessary to rest. If Nikola Jokic is to win these famous Finals, we suspect that the joy will last more than half an hour this time…

Despite a convincing success against the Lakers, no madness for Nikola Jokic and his family! The Nuggets keep theeye on their title shot and will only allow themselves to celebrate once the season is officially over. A serious mentality that could well benefit them…
