Christian Böhnke is the founder and managing director of Padello, a company that has built about a third of all padel courts in Germany. The company has been building two courts since April – per week. They completed 50 courts last year, and there are likely to be around 65 new ones in 2023, with another 100 to be added next year.
“We have just tripled the number of inquiries compared to 2022. And then it was twice as high as in the previous year,” says Böhnke. Double and triple – there is a gold rush mood. The sport has been flushed out of its niche. Also thanks to prominent multipliers.
