The Internationals of France of Miyu Kato end well. Disqualified in women’s doubles this Sunday, June 4 for having unintentionally hit a ball on a collector, the Japanese reacted magnificently by winning the mixed doubles tournament with her German partner Tim Puetz. The pair beat Canadian Bianca Andreescu and Australian Michael Venus (4-6, 6-4, 10-6) in the final.
She still managed to remobilize to win this title, her first Grand Slam. “It was a challenge mentally after the disqualification. I want to thank everyone for the heartfelt messages of support.”she said while receiving the trophy.
