Gerrard was supposed to talk to the board immediately after the end of the season, but he is not the main candidate. Carlos Corberan from West Bromwich Albion, who was Marcelo Bielsa’s assistant at Leeds in 2018-2020, also appears in the media.

In the case of Leicester City, it is known that the authorities there invited Gerrard for an interview with a view to a possible replacement for Dean Smith. The Daily Mail reported that Leicester are also considering other options. One of them is Scott Parker, who was able to get promoted from Fulham and Bournemouth to the Premier League. He has been out of work since March this year, when he was fired from Club Brugge. Another possible solution is to hire Enzo Mareski, who is a member of Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff at Manchester City.

Before Gerrard took charge of Aston Villa, he managed Scottish Rangers from 2018-2021, with whom he won the championship in the 20/21 season. In recent weeks, the Englishman has received job offers not only from the Polish federation, but also from Iceland, Paris Saint-Germain and Trabzonspor.
