Final Manchester City – Inter Milan: the details of the bonuses paid in the UEFA Champions League 2022-2023

On Saturday, Manchester City face Inter in the 2022-2023 UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul. A match worth several million euros for both teams.

Last summer, before the start of European competitions, UEFA forecast gross receipts of 3.5 billion euros for the Champions League, the Europa League, the Europa Conference League and the Super Cup. Victory in group match: €2.8m

Pool draw: €930,000
Undistributed amounts (930,000 per draw) will be pooled and redistributed to clubs participating in the group stage in proportion to their number of wins

qualification for 1/8th: €9.6m

qualification for 1/4: €10.6m

qualification for the 1/2 finals: €12.5m

qualification for the final: €15.5m

Winner: €4.5m

Premiums linked to coefficients (€600.6 million)

Bonuses are paid based on club performance over a ten-year period. a ranking of the clubs is established and the total amount of 600.6 million euros is divided into “coefficient shares” of 1.137 million each. The lowest ranked team will receive one share, the highest ranked team will receive 32 shares or 36.38 million. Manchester City is 8th and Inter 26th.

TV market share premiums (€300.3 million)

The available amount of 300.3 million euros will be distributed proportionally to the value of each TV market of the clubs participating in the Champions League. The different market shares will be distributed to the participating clubs of each association

Half of the amount representing the value of each market will be divided between the clubs, based on their results in the previous national championship.

The other half of the amount representing the value of each market will be paid according to the number of matches played by each club.
