Artur Moraes, Former Player, Takes On Head of Football Role at Coritiba

Artur Moraes, a professional who has already played with the alviverde shirt, is the new head of football at Coritiba. The manager will be responsible for training and administering the coxa-branca squad, in addition to acting in the club’s strategic planning and football policy in all categories. As soon as the court approves it, Artur will also assume this role in the management of SAF, a project that is led by Treecorp Investimentos.

The executive, who already conducts important decisions in the club’s day-to-day life, was chosen due to the alignment of technical and sporting guidelines with the objectives of this new stage at Coritiba.

Artur already has experience in the football market, especially in Europe. In Portuguese football, he led the process of professionalization and transformation of the management of FC Alverca, a team that operates in the outskirts of Lisbon.

Outside the four lines, Moraes carried out specializations at UEFA, with training at the Master International Players and at the Portugal Football School, the professional specialized in didactics focused on executive leadership.

“I hope to help Coritiba in this new phase, a club that is going through a period of reconstruction to resume its leading role in Brazilian football. We understand the wishes of the fans and we are working with professional goals so that we can achieve short, medium and long term goals. The results will be perceived progressively”, comments Artur Moraes.

Carlos Amodeo, CEO of Coritiba, highlights Artur’s experience in football and the importance of the professional’s arrival.

“Artur is a respected professional in the field, he has an excellent connection and leadership with the players and coaching staff and he already conducts important restructuring operations in the club’s daily life. We hope it can be a long partnership with great achievements”, says Amodeo.

Winning career and vast experience in Europe

Revealed by Paulista-SP, the former goalkeeper passed through Cruzeiro and participated in the Triple Crown campaign. During the 2006 season, the archer arrived at Alto da Glória to wear the shirt of Coritiba. In European football, he has spells at Braga-POR, Roma-ITA and Benfica-POR.

In 2017, Artur Moraes was hired to captain Chapecoense with the mission of leading the recovery process for the team from Santa Catarina.
