Sven van Beek will combine his football career with a job as a real estate agent on the Spanish Costa del Sol. He reports this himself on his LinkedIn page. The 28-year-old center defender says he already wants to build a career next to football.
Van Beek still has a contract with Heerenveen until mid-2025. In a post on LinkedIn, he explains why he is going to work as a real estate agent in addition to his active football career. “In my ten-year football career at the highest level, I have dealt with long-term injuries several times. That made me think about what else piques my interest. I am happy to already have a career next to football. so that when I stop playing football I don’t end up in a black hole.”
“As a small child, we went on holiday to Spain almost every year as a family. As a result, I always had the feeling that Spain is my second home. In 2020 I was able to purchase my first home in Mijas on the Costa del Sol. That is for been a dream come true for me. I would also like to help other people to realize this dream,” said van Beek, who will largely carry out his new activities from the Netherlands and will have the opportunity to fly to Spain during the winter and summer breaks.
Van Beek will be a colleague of former goalkeeper Benjamin Van Leer. In the past, the brand new man of Lieke Martens was under contract with Ajax, Roda JC and NAC Breda, among others. Martens revealed in an interview with Algemeen Dagblad on Wednesday that Van Leer recently stopped playing football. The 31-year-old former goalkeeper can therefore fully focus on his work as a broker.
