The Charlotte Hornets want to keep Miles Bridges on their roster and have extended a qualified offer to him for the 2023-2024 season, as announced by the team itself.
In this way, the forward becomes a free agent with restrictions, that is, the Hornets have the right to match the proposals of other franchises. His teammates PJ Washington and Theo Maledon also received qualifying offers.
Bridges missed the entire past contest after being charged with domestic violence in June 2022. In the case, in which he has pleaded not guilty, he is serving three years of probation. The NBA, for its part, carried out an independent investigation and sanctioned him with 30 suspension games, of which 20 are considered fulfilled after being absent in 2022-2023, so that he will miss the first 10 games of the next edition.
The 25-year-old player was one of the revelations in 2021-2022. In 80 games started at power forward, he averaged 20.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists, all career highs over four seasons. This performance set him up as a candidate for a lucrative contract, however his arrest ruled out any move by the team.
