the pitcher Domingo Germán spoke after the great feat of becoming the 24th pitcher in Major League history to achieve a perfect game in the New York Yankees’ 11-0 win over the Oakland Athletics.
“I am very excited, in my career it is one of the greatest achievements in baseball, it is really exciting. I always dreamed of it and thank God today I fulfilled it and I will remember it for the rest of my life”, declared Domingo Germán at the end of the game.
Regarding the pressure he felt in the last three outsthe Dominican pitcher expressed that: “The last inning I felt the greatest pressure that can be felt, I did not want to miss a pitchone visualizes each count, It’s the biggest pressure I’ve ever felt in my career in that last full inning.… I stayed focused as I had been since the first inning, not trying to throw harder or do more, just execute each pitch and maintain consistency and balance on each pitch.
