The creators of NBA 2K Playgrounds have announced a new arcade football game. Titled Wild Card Football, the title arrives October 10 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC, but will be published by Saber Interactive, not 2K.
Featuring over-the-top 7v7 gameplay mechanics, the game will be fully licensed by the NFL Players Association and will include hundreds of current and legendary athletes. Names like Colin Kaepernick, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Jefferson, Joey Bosa, Ja’ Marr Chase, Aaron Donald, TJ Watt and Jalen Hurts are already confirmed.
In addition, Wild Card Football will feature a club customization system, power-ups and special abilities and tactics that break the rules. Seasonal games will also be part of the playlist and can be enjoyed in online and local multiplayer, complete with full crossplay.

Wild Card Football will not be licensed by the NFL
One point worth mentioning is the absence of the NFL as a licensee of Wild Card Football. With that, the association of athletes of the North American league is responsible for guaranteeing names and caricatured faces of athletes, but there will be no mention of the clubs, whether in relation to names, kits or logos.
