The duo won in three sets against the Dutch Matwe Middelkoop, 39, and the Indonesian Aldila Sutjiadi, 28, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

Joran Vliegen (ATP 25 in men’s doubles), 30, and Yifan Xu (WTA 27 in women’s doubles), 34, will play in the final against the No.7 seed formed by the Croatian Mate Pavic (ATP 17), 30 years, and the Ukrainian Lyudmyla Kichenok (WTA 15), 30 years old, victorious on her side in almost 2 hours (1h55) against the British pair who benefit from an invitation Jonny O’Mara (ATP 128), 28 years old, and Olivia Nicholls (WTA 72), 28: 7-6 (8/6), 4-6 and 6-3.

Yifan Xu, from Tianjin, was a 2019 women’s doubles finalist at Wimbledon.

After an easily dominated 6-1 first set, Vliegen and Xu lost 3-6, the second having lost their serve in the 8th game on their opponents’ first break point of the match. In the 3rd set, they raced in the lead to win after one hour and 27 minutes of play.

Joran Vliegen will play the third Grand Slam final of his career. He lost the first two: the mixed doubles last year at Roland-Garros with the Norwegian Ulrikke Eikeri and the men’s doubles this year on clay in Paris too, with Sander Gillé.

This year in doubles at Wimbledon, Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen were eliminated in the round of 16.
