The representatives of 16 teams who will launch the new reference category of Catalan territorial football met with the president of the FCF, John Soteras, for the start of this new competition. The Elite League it will have a unique group and will start on the weekend of September 16 and 17. Girona’s representatives are Palamós, Figueres and Lloret.

The competition will have a regular phase with two rounds, with 30 days. The champion and the runner-up will go directly to the Tercera RFEF. The remaining promotion place will be contested by those classified between the third and sixth positions, facing a double match in the semi-finals between the 3rd and the 6th and the 4th against the 5th. The two winners will play the final, also in a double match. In all the qualifiers, the duel will be played back to the field of the best classified in the regular phase.
In turn, those classified between the 13th and 16th positions in the group, that is to say, the bottom four teams in the table, will be relegated directly to the Primera Catalana.
With regard to participation in the Copa del Rey 2024-2025, the basis of which is set by the RFEF, the FCF Board of Directors will propose that the losing team of the play-off final enter the preliminary round promotion to the Third RFEF.
At the same time, in the new Elite League, the signing window it will be open until April 26, 2024, the deadline before the last four days of the regular league.
Soteras confirmed to all the clubs in the Elite League that they will receive a fixed financial aid from 11.500€ by the FCF, sent in two payments. In addition, €0.50 per kilometer traveled and €50 per point achieved will be paid. In total, the FCF will allocate a global subsidy to the teams worth €240,000. However, the new Elite League will maintain the same federation quotas and arbitration receipt as the Primera Catalana.

Each day there will be the live broadcast of a match of the new Elite League, on Sundays at noon, through a television operator that will be announced shortly.
