De Telegraaf Loses Official Media Partner Position with Ajax; Mediahuis Takes Over

De Telegraaf is no longer the Official Media Partner of Ajax, as you know Ajax Life report Sunday night. The fan site inquired at the Amsterdam club and learned that the contract with the newspaper has not been extended. Mediahuis is the new Official Media Partner of Ajax.

Mediahuis is an umbrella media company that houses major brands such as De Telegraaf, VROUW, Privé, Autovisie, Noordhollands Dagblad, Haarlems Dagblad, Leidsch Dagblad, IJmuider Courant and De Gooi- en Eemlander. Many digital brands also fall under the Mediahuis, such as Dumpert.

The contract with De Telegraaf expired on July 1, 2023. Ajax considers a commercial collaboration between Mediahuis and Ajax more logical for both parties than an official media partnership with only one title, it sounds. That is why we have now opted for a collaboration with Mediahuis.

Ajax Life explains that De Telegraaf, as Official Media Partner, had a number of promotional rights and also hospitality rights. In exchange, Ajax was given access to, among other things, the (commercial) reach of the newspaper, which reach was used, for example, around ticket sales and shirt introductions. The collaboration was independent of what was written editorially on the sports pages of the newspaper, assures Ajax Life.
