Eight Arrested in Rome for Drug Dealing: Seizure of Drugs and Money

The arrests – with the suspects who, in most cases, were caught giving doses of drugs to buyers – were carried out in the areas most frequented by young people and tourists (Centre, Trastevere and Parioli) and in the suburbs (Tor Bella Monaca , Tor Tre Teste).

In particular, in Ponte Sisto, the Carabinieri of the Roma Trastevere station arrested a 34-year-old Moroccan, already known to the police, found in possession of 17 g of hashish and 50 euros, believed to be the proceeds of a previous illegal activity.

In via Moncenisio, the Carabinieri of the Roma Città Giardino station arrested a 56-year-old Roman, found in possession of 13 doses of crack and 10 doses of cocaine weighing a total of about 30 g, as well as the cash sum of 630 euros, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity. Drugs and money were seized and the man was taken to the barracks.

The Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Compagnia di Roma Monte Sacro, following a targeted anti-drug service, arrested a 33-year-old Roman who, on board his own car, was noticed while giving a dose of cocaine to a buyer who was identified and reported to the Prefecture of Rome, as a drug user. More in-depth checks were also carried out on the vehicle driven by the 33-year-old which allowed the Carabinieri to find him in possession of 11 cocaine wrappers for a total weight of 18 g and 50 euros in cash.

The Carabinieri of the Nucleo Radiomobile of Rome have arrested a 35-year-old resident in the province of Latina, noticed while walking along Via Cristoforo Colombo. Subjected to control, the man was found in possession of 35 wrappers of mdma weighing a total of about 6 g plus half a dose of hashish, found in the briefs.

In via Manfredonia, the suspicious attitude of a 26-year-old Roman who wandered around inside some condominium lots did not go unnoticed by the Carabinieri of the Rome Tor Tre Teste station, who, curious, stopped him to submit him to a check that allowed to the military to find and seize about 7 g of cocaine and 400 euros in cash, as well as an additional 7 g of crack that the 26-year-old had hidden in a plastic tube that was in his immediate vicinity.

In via Val Trompia, the Carabinieri of the Rome Viale Libia station arrested a 42-year-old woman originally from the Philippines, already known to the police. Noticed by the military with a suspicious attitude, the 42-year-old was found in possession of 4g of cocaine which was seized. On board his car and in the vicinity of his home, the Carabinieri of the Rome Monte Spaccato station arrested a 34-year-old Roman, already known to the police. The military noticed the 34-year-old who was making strange movements aboard the parked car and therefore decided to block him to subject him to a check that allowed the Carabinieri to find and seize about 7 g of cocaine hidden in a pouch and a further 7 g of hashish found at the home.

Finally, late in the evening, in via dell’Archeologia, the Carabinieri of Rome’s Tor Bella Monaca station arrested a 36-year-old Roman, already known to the police, seen by the military as he gave a dose of cocaine weighing a total of 4 g to a citizen residing in the area who was promptly identified and reported to the Prefect of Rome as a drug user. The 36-year-old, who was already subject to the measure of the obligation to sign in the barracks for the same violation, was found in possession of 190 euros, believed to be the proceeds of the previous illegal activity. The man was taken to his home under house arrest, available to the Court of Rome.

All arrests have been validated.

It should be noted that the proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase, for which the suspects are to be considered innocent until the final sentence.
