Ronald Acuña Jr. Reaches 50 Stolen Bases and 24 Home Runs, Leading the Atlanta Braves to Victory

The Atlanta Braves (66-36) defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (57-48) 11-5 and the star of the game was Venezuelan Ronald Acuña Jr. “El Abusador” reached 50 stolen bases and 24 home runs in the 2023 season of the big leagues.

The man from La Guaira hit a single in his first turn at bat and did not hesitate to steal second base when Ozzie Albies came up to the plate. The Braves outfielder is the MLB leader in SBs and the closest chaser to him is the Oakland Athletics’ Estury Ruiz with 43.

Acuña’s homer came in the fourth inning. The Braves outfielder hit a cutter off Julio Therán and sent it out of Truist Park all the way to center field to drive in Orlando Arcia and put the score 8-1 in favor of Atlanta.

Acuña recorded his 21st major league game with a home run and a stolen base. According to ESPN’s statistics service, that’s the seventh-highest number for a player 25 and younger.
