Magnus Whitemember of the United States national mountain bike team, died after being hit by a car while training near his residence in Boulder (Colorado). as reported by the United States Cycling Federation (USA Cycling). White was preparing his participation for the Cross County MTB Worlds which will take place in the Scottish city of Glasgow next August 10.
In a message posted on social media this Sunday, USA Cycling it announced, “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that 17-year-old Magnus White has died in a training accident.”
“Rising star on the cycling scene”
White, who was considered by the Federation “a rising star in the cycling scene”, won the National Junior Cyclocross Championship in 2021a victory that opened the doors of the US national cycling team, with whom he competed for a year in cyclocross racing in Europe and took part in the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This same summer he confirmed his projection by being selected to be part of the team that would dispute the aforementioned Glasgow Mountain Bike World Championship
