When they were 6 minutes into the game that faced Nacional against Boca Juniors this Wednesday for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores, an event occurred that shocked everyone in the Great Central Park. And it is that Diego Rodríguez went for a ball fighting the position with Cristian Medina and, when he fell, hit his head against the grass.

This caused him a shock that left him lying down for a few seconds. Faced with the immobility of the steering wheel, Alfonso Trezza began to shout for the entry of the albos’ medical team, something that some fans accompanied. Visibly dizzy, he got up shouting “I’m not going out, I’m not going out”, something that finally did not happen since Thiago Helguera entered in his place.

The footballer stayed on the substitute bench throughout the match watching the game and after this he was taken to a clinic for studies. “It was a difficult moment because when the doctor arrived he was unconscious, but there is a recommendation to take the player out after he recovers, and that’s what we did,” said Álvaro Gutiérrez at a press conference.

Finally, this Thursday afternoon, Nacional issued a statement on its social networks about the health report: “He suffered a head injury with a fleeting loss of consciousness. Good clinical evolution, a CT scan was performed which was normal”.
