Zane Adnan Shines in Indonesia’s International Basketball Invitational Debut

KOMPAS.com – One of the players who became the focus of attention when the Indonesian basketball national team played in the first match of the Indonesia International Basketball Invitational (IIBI) was Zane William Adnan.

Zane Adnan is an Indonesian basketball national team player of Indonesian-US descent.

He played well when the basketball national team beat the Indonesia Patriots with a score of 82-56 in the inaugural IIBI match at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (2/8/2023) afternoon.

Zane became the top scorer by scoring 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. In that match, in general he was able to work with the Indonesian basketball national team players.

Regarding Zane’s performance, the assistant coach of the Indonesian basketball national team, Wahyu Widayat Jati, also opened his voice. In his opinion, Zane could be a good addition to the Red and White team.

“I met Zane in November in Las Vegas. So, I’ve seen how good he plays,” Wahyu said in a post-match press conference.

“He will be a big addition to our national team if he is counted as a local player,” said Cacing, his nickname.

Previously, the head coach of the Indonesian basketball national team, Milos Pejic, also appreciated Zane’s presence.

In the match against the Indonesian Patriots, Zane played well, especially in the final quarter.

He dismantled the Patriots defense through his long range shots.

The contribution of 10 points from Zane in this quarter made the Indonesian national team distance their victory difference to 82-56.

In the future, Zane et al will be back in action when the Indonesian national team will face the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Indonesia Arena on Friday (4/8/2023).
