After two seasons in Hounston, Josh Christopher has had a change of scenery this year with his transfer to Memphis. The shooting guard showed in the Rockets that he had interesting potential but he never had the necessary role to shine, something that he hopes to do in some Grizzlies to whom he believes that he can give many things.
“I can contribute everything, I am an effective player on both sides of the track,” he said in his statements to David Yapkowitz, a journalist for Clutch Points. «I have been working on my shot to be able to add in that aspect as well while I continue to work on defense. At the same time, I try to use my creative abilities to play with the ball, trying to have an impact on the game and help the team win.”
Christopher has sought to stand out for his defensive aggressiveness, something that has accompanied him since his training stage. When asked about this, he commented how this way of understanding basketball arose, in whose response he alluded to his childhood and his high school stage.
«It has always been said that defense wins championships. I am the youngest of my brothers and I have grown up playing basketball with them, and as if I wanted to have the ball I had to prevent them from scoring, that was my obsession for a while. Also, in high school I had to play center from time to time and I had to work to protect the rim, so there I also learned to focus on this section.

Finally, he commented on his individual goals for this course: «What I want is to establish myself. It has always been said that the third year in the league is the decisive one, and this will be my year, so I want to settle down and find a home. I’m going to try to do all the things that I’ve been working on this summer, and if I’m able to bring it to the court, get in shape and have fun playing basketball, I’ll be fine.”
