The most expensive purchase in Bundesliga history is about to be completed. FC Bayern and Tottenham Hotspur are said to have agreed on a fee for Harry Kane after weeks of negotiations. Now, however, the striker hesitates.

According to media reports, FC Bayern has agreed with Tottenham Hotspur to transfer star striker Harry Kane. The decision to switch to the Bundesliga club is now up to the 30-year-old Englishman, the portal “The Athletic” reported on Thursday, citing sources in Germany. Accordingly, the London club accepted an offer from Munich of allegedly the equivalent of more than 100 million euros on Wednesday.

With a commitment, Bayern would close the largest construction site of their squad. Kane would be the most expensive entry in the Munich club’s history and would rise to become the top earner in the foreseeable future. He had recently pushed for a decision before the start of the Premier League league this weekend.

However, the player himself is still undecided. According to Sky Sports in England, it looks “more and more likely” that Kane wants to stay at Tottenham this season after all. However, the broadcaster did not name a source. The TV broadcaster Sky in Germany also wrote that the captain of the English national football team was hesitating despite an alleged verbal agreement with the Munich team.

Kane still has a contract in Tottenham until the summer of 2024. Spurs, especially club owner Joe Lewis, were not ready to lose their striker on a free transfer. Lewis had therefore called for an immediate sale of Kane if he refused to sign a new working paper in London.

Kane has scored 30 times in the Premier League

The attacker had consistently delivered in the Premier League for years. In the last season alone he scored 30 goals in 38 league games, only Erling Haaland (36 goals) from champions Manchester City was better. However, Kane plays for Tottenham and thus in a much weaker team.

With a total of 213 goals, he is only behind Alan Shearer (260) in the all-time list of the top Premier League goalscorers. The record scorer also scores reliably in the national team. And it is precisely this reliability that has made him interesting for Bayern, among other things.
