Detroit Tigers baseball player Miguel Cabrera surpassed legendary baseball player Tony Gwynn this week on the list of greatest hitters in Major League history.
The native managed to connect two hits that allowed him to reach 3,142 hits in his career, which allowed him to surpass the 3,141 hits of Gwynn, who is considered one of the best hitters of all time.
Given this fact, Cabrera was quite excited to have surpassed such an important figure in organized baseball, something he demonstrated in an interview with journalist Jason Beck.

“I can say that I have more hits than Tony Gwynn. Brother, that’s crazy,” Cabrera said when asked by the communicator and shared this Friday by MLB.
With his unstoppable 3,142, he also equaled the historic Robin Yount in 19th place of all time, a figure that he already surpassed to only be in that box when he reached 3,145 hits.
This will be Miguel Cabrera’s last season in the Major Leagues, a season in which he has managed to surpass great sports figures to establish himself as one of the best in modern history.
Throughout his career, he has a .307 average with 3,145 hits, 620 doubles, 508 home runs, 1,864 RBIs and 1,544 runs scored.
