Militao also tears the anterior cruciate ligament

MADRID, 13 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Brazilian defender Éder Militao suffers a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that will force him to undergo surgery, the white club confirmed this Sunday, so he could miss a large part of the season.

“After tests carried out on our player Éder Militao, he has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days,” the Madrid club said in a statement.

The Brazilian international was injured during the victory on Saturday for Carlo Ancelotti’s men against Athletic Club, in an action in which his left leg was stuck while trying to stop Oihan Sancet.

With this, Real Madrid suffers its third setback of the week, after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was injured in training and also tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and it was confirmed that the Turkish Arda Güler will have to undergo a small surgery to improve the recovery of his meniscus injury.
