Michael Oher is a former NFL player originally from Tennessee, USA, with a very peculiar story which inspired the film “A Possible Dream”, nominated for an Oscar in 2009 for Best Picture.
In his childhood, Oher suffered the ravages of belonging to a family where his biological mother was addicted to drugs and his father was in prison, who died in prison when Michael was a teenager.

From childhood to adolescence, the professional athlete was in the homes of adoptive families and had difficulties completing basic education, since he was in 11 institutions during the first years of his training.
It was in 2004, when he was 18 years old, that the former Carolina Panthers offensive tackler was welcomed by the Tuohy family, when he was already studying at Briarcrest Christian School, the school where he had his first approach to American football.
The year 2008 was key for Oher’s professional career, as he joined the ranks of the Baltimore Ravens team with a five-year contract. In 2014, with the number 74 jersey, he began his journey with the Tennessee Titans.
One of his most important achievements was winning the 2013 Super Bowl by beating the San Francisco 49ers. The last team he was a part of before retiring was the Carolina Panthers, at the end of his two-year contract he decided to retire.
Part of his life is portrayed in the book “I Beat the Odds” that he wrote in 2012 and in the film “A possible dream”, starring Quinton Aaron, who gives life to the athlete and by the actress Sandra Bullock, who played Anne Tuohy.
Oher filed a lawsuit against members of the Tuohy family to stop receiving royalties for said film that came to light in 2009 and for which the former American player has not obtained profits.

In the same way, he requested to end the guardianship that links him to the Tuohys, since he recently discovered that they did not adopt him, they only made him sign a document establishing that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy are his guardians and you can use their image for business .
