Real Madrid has formalized on its website the registration of the son of Carlo Ancelotti as second coach. A first since the Italians are at the club.
Since the return of the man from La Décima to Madrid two years ago, it was Davide Ancelotti, his son, who occupied the role of assistant coach. Only problem, the latter did not have the qualifications required to be registered with the authorities as such. These qualifications he now holds and is now officially his father’s assistant.
Davide Ancelotti, 34, has finally obtained his license UEFA Prothe one needed to be registered as an assistant or main coach of any team in Europe, including Real Madrid, of course.
Until now, Davide Ancelotti was listed as a first assistant on the club’s website and, in LaLiga, Real Madrid didn’t even have a declared assistant manager. All that has changed and on both the Real Madrid website and LaLiga website, Davide Ancelotti now appears as an assistant coach.

A status that had posed a problem
The fact that Real Madrid did not officially have an assistant coach on their staff caused a problem last year, during the Celta-Real Madrid match, when Carlo Ancelotti was unable to travel to Vigo following a test positive for Covid.
That day, Real tinkered as best he could. Abián Perdomo served as first-team coach, with Davide alongside him on the bench. The Cantera member holds a UEFA Pro license and he was the only one who could show up for the role. A funny situation that will not happen again, since in the event of unexpected absence of Carlo Ancelotti, his son is now able to replace him.
