Between today and Sunday the Grand Prix of Zagreb (Croatia) will be held, organized by the International Judo Federation. There will be 8 representatives of the Argentine Judo Confederation (CAJ), seeking to score points with a view to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and strengthening their preparation for the Santiago de Chile 2023 Pan American Games, two months from the continental event.
BIG RIVER.- The Fuegian Mariano Coto (-90 kilos), 80th in the world ranking and 27th seeded in the Croatian event, is the only one in the group that has not confirmed his first opponent, since after the draw he was released in the first round from Group C and his rival will emerge from the duel between the Hungarian Peter Safrany (33rd and 10th) and Dzhakh Madzhidov (59th and 23rd), from Tajikistan.
The favorites in this category are the Hungarian Krisztian Toth (10th in the world) and the Brazilian Rafael Macedo (11th).
After the tournament, the Albiceleste delegation will leave for Porto (Portugal), where they will train, and on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 they will participate in the Gaia European Cup.
