The NBA could be drawn into the ongoing drama between the Philadelphia 76ers and All-Star point guard James Harden, who has made it clear he’s done with the City of Brotherly Love and the president of basketball operations- ball Daryl Morey.
According to Sports Illustrated, reports from NBA insider Marc Stein, “There are now calls for the league to re-examine Philly again to try to assess what Morey allegedly lied to Harden about.
“If Harden suggests the Sixers made some kind of contractual promise last summer – which the team has flatly denied and maintains they were already authorized to do – they will certainly be subject to league discipline. ”

Harden, 33, is unhappy with Morey over the lack of a long-term maximum contract offer, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Harden took a $15 million pay cut last Julysigning a $33 million contract for the 2022-23 campaign after declining his $47.4 million player option with the Sixers.
Harden has expressed interest in being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.PA
Rumblings of a rift between Harden and Morey swirled in June when the point guard picked up the $35.6 million player option for the 2023-24 season and declared his trade request, the Los Angeles Clippers being his favorite destination.
SATURDAY, Wojnarowski reported the Sixers have ended trade talks regarding Harden and “plan to bring him back to training camp for the start of the season.”

In a video posted Monday by Shams Charania de l’AthleticHarden called Morey a “liar” while speaking at a press event in China with Adidas basketball.

When asked if it was too late for Harden and the Sixers to put things right, the former NBA MVP said, “I think so.
