Transformed Auga Factory Becomes Massive Sports Complex with Indoor Facilities and Amenities

Four million euros have been invested in transforming the former Auga factory at the southern entrance to Châteauroux into a gigantic complex of more than 6000 m2 where you can practice various indoor sports (five-a-side football, padel, squash, badminton), a care and well-being area with a privatized spa, a hairdressing salon, a seminar room for companies and a catering area which can accommodate a hundred people. An original and ambitious project worn by Emmanuel and Christine Denormandie who managed the Jardiland store in Cap Sud for twenty years. Their two daughters and a son-in-law are also associated with this project.

Private and corporate customers

After long months of work, the resort had opened in February 2020. In March, France found itself confined and the economy at a standstill. “We got off to a very bad start: everything was against us“, recognizes Emmanuel Denormandie. Fortunately, the page has been turned. For the past year, the complex has finally been operating normally and is gaining new customers every month. Companies represent a significant part of the activity with day programs that combine work meetings and sporting and friendly moments conducive to group cohesion. More and more children also come to celebrate their birthday there on Wednesdays or Saturdays.

The complex includes a bar and restaurant area. – The 4 elements

For its part, the catering area has met with great success with weekday lunchtime customers who work in the nearby Cap Sud area and in the evening athletes who, after their session, meet there for a drink and of a board. “We were able to link the skills of each“, explains Emmanuel Denormandie. The structure employs twelve people.

Since last year, The 4 elements welcomes the business league, a mini-championship which takes place from September to December and which is reserved for company employees. The complex also organizes leisure padel, squash and badminton tournaments and even an official padel tournament. An event section that the Denormandie family wishes to develop. “We have resumed normal activity for only one year. We are progressing but it takes time to reach the public. We think it takes another two years to find a cruising speed“, concludes the manager.
