Zeno Debast was in the interest of AC Milan this summer. However, he stayed at RSC Anderlecht.
After the failed transfer of Charles De Ketelaere to AC Milan last summer, Italy is particularly cautious about transfers of compatriots.
The possible transfer of Anderlecht defender Zeno Debast to the Italian fashion capital was also followed with suspicion. According to Walter Baseggio, Debast has done well not to leave yet.
“Milan has a lot of young players like Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori, Pellegrino… but in my opinion Debast is not ready for the Rossoneri yet,” he told Gianluca Di Marzio. “He is good in one-on-one and in the air, but he still has some flaws in his positioning and his play.”
Debast would not be able to play every week at AC Milan. “He would have to agree to play 20 minutes here and there. He is a good player, but he still has a lot of room for improvement in the future. He did well to stay at Anderlecht to mature. At the moment, Zeno is not yet ready to become a permanent fixture as a starter for Milan.”
