Detroit Pistons Sign Jontay Porter to ‘Exhibit 10’ Contract, Completing 21-Player Roster for Training Camp

The Detroit Pistons have signed a contract ‘Exhibit 10’ to free agent Jontay Porter, as reported by the journalist from The Athletic, James L. Edwards. Jontay is the younger brother of Michael Porter Jr., current Denver Nuggets player and reigning NBA champion. With this addition, the Michigan franchise completes its maximum quota of 21 players who can participate in the ‘training camp’.

Porter, 23, also had to deal with injuries early in his career, including several ACL tears in his knee. In March 2020 he signed a contract with the Memphis Grizzlies that ended up becoming a three-year deal. However, he only played eleven games before joining the Development League.

In his last campaign he participated in 32 games with the Wisconsin Herd, an affiliate team of the Milwaukee Bucks in the G-League, in which he averaged 12.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.2 blocks. Assuming the Pistons cut him, the power forward will be eligible to receive a bonus of up to $75,000 if he completes at least 60 days with the affiliate in the Development League. The agreement ‘Exhibit 10’ Porter could also become a dual deal if he impresses Detroit’s coaching staff in the preseason.
