“RTU/Rockets” beat “Ulbroki” in Riga
The leader of the ELVI floorball league “FS Masters/Ulbroka” won the third victory in three games, beating the team “RTU/Rockets” 11:5 tonight in the capital. Rolands Kovalevskis and Matīs Kristiāns Morozovs were the top scorers in the winning team with three points each.
“FS Masters/Ulbroka” had started the new season with two convincing victories at home (over “Ķekava/RB&B” and “Bauska”). At the same time, Riga “RTU/Rockets” had so far played only one match, in which they recognized the superiority of “Rubenes” of Kocēni with 4:7.
Rolands Kovalevskis, the top scorer of the championship, opened the result of tonight’s match already in the 3rd minute with an accurate shot – 1:0. By the 15th minute, his teammates Nikolas Rukavishnikovs, Kevin Schmidt and Tomas Kristofers Birstiņš had already made it 4-0. In the 18th minute, Rodrigo Andris Petkus from Riga answered the guests with a goal – 1:4. After the first period, the visitors were leading 5-2. During the second third, Ulbrokians increased their lead to six goals – 10:4. Both teams exchanged goals in the last period. In the final result, “FS Masters/Ulbroka” celebrated another convincing victory, this time – with 11:5.
Rolands Kovalevskis scored three goals for the winners, while Matīss Kristiāns Morozovs stood out with three assists. Valters Lapiņš and Tomas Kristofers Birstiņš scored two goals each, while Nikolas Rukavishnikovs scored 2 (1+1) points. The award for the best player in Ulbroka’s team went to goalkeeper Ivars Dishereit, who saved 26 of 31 opponents’ shots. Goalkeeper Erika Zaica was recognized as the best among the Riga players, who managed 21 out of 23 opponents’ shots in the 28 minutes allotted to him. Rodrigo Andris Petkus was the most productive in the capital’s team with 2 (1+1) points.
