Exactly one year after his retirement, Roger Federer (42) has returned to the big tennis stage once again. The Basel native stopped by “his” Laver Cup in Vancouver on the first day of the tournament and was interviewed afterwards. In addition to the questions from tennis legend Jim Courier (53), the maestro is also bombarded with questions from the audience – and even gets a little flustered.

“As a father of two teenagers – what is your advice for having a good time with them?” Federer is asked. «These are hard times. “I’m just happy to be able to live in my own house,” jokes the 20-time Grand Slam winner. “I love them, but my God, I can’t believe they are the way they are now at 14. Yes, it’s complicated right now, but in a good way. I know it will pass.”

“I miss tennis”

Federer said he likes the strong character of his daughters. “Maybe my advice is: I’m glad they’re screaming and crying at home instead of somewhere else. I know that they all share their feelings with me and talk about everything. To be honest, I love that,” said the tennis star about Myla and Charlene.

Last September, Federer ended his 24-year professional career at the Laver Cup in London. “I miss it,” admits the long-time world number 1. “The exciting moments on the pitch, scoring match points and lifting trophies.” However, there probably won’t be a comeback. As a family man, Federer already seems to have enough to do at the moment.
