Plight of German footballers: Everything is in limbo – Sport

There are creaks, jerks and pinches in German football – and not just for men, but also for women. The DFB team can look back on a disappointing World Cup and the preliminary round exit in Australia is still fresh in their minds. National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg is currently taking a break from her position, her assistant coach Britta Carlson has stepped in in the Nations League – and so far things are hardly going any better. The team started with a 0-2 loss in Denmark on Friday, followed by the game against Iceland in Bochum on Tuesday.

It’s about the future, about taking part in the Olympics and about really big questions. Problems are now also piling up in women’s football – reason enough to take a closer look at them in “And now about sport”. This time, moderator Jonas Beckenkamp welcomes the expert Anna Dreher and the expert Frank Hellmann to the SZ football talk.

Football Bundesliga, Champions League, sports policy at Fifa and DFB: “And now to sport”, the football podcast from the Süddeutsche Zeitung, provides insights into the most important football topic of the week. Every Monday, SZ sports editors discuss the background to current events.
