The Mistral school in Mont-Joli inaugurated its synthetic pitch on Saturday afternoon during an opening ceremony bringing together elected officials and partners. A $3.2 million project, of which the Ma Financière Prêts et Placements institution becomes the main sponsor for the next 15 years.
“I am very happy to be able to announce the great collaboration with Ma Financière loans and placements and the Mistral school. It is a company which has its roots in La Mitis and which contributes enormously to supporting youth. We first did this project for young people. It is with them in mind that we planned and carried out each step,” underlined the director of the Mistral school, Christine Marquis.
The construction of the synthetic field mobilized the entire La Mitis community. Quebec contributed $1.9 million, in addition to financial contributions from the City of Mont-Joli, the MRC of La Mitis, the Phares School Service Center and the Le Mistral school.

“This is a major addition that will have a favorable impact on several levels. The whole of La Mitis will be able to benefit from the undeniable advantages of a synthetic pitch. I am proud of the spirit of collaboration that gave a special touch to the development of this project, from the very beginning. For the young people of La Mitis, it is important to provide this type of facility to allow them to move and develop in sport,” mentions the prefect of the MRC of La Mitis, Bruno Paradis.
