Morisawa
Morisawa Co., Ltd. will be a special sponsor of the 18th Kitakyushu City Elementary School Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, which will be held on Thursday, November 9th and Friday, November 10th, 2023. In addition, we will hold a PR event for this tournament, “Aeon de Parasport in Kitakyushu Let’s all support the Kitakyushu Champions Cup International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament!”

Since 2002, the Kitakyushu City Elementary School Wheelchair Basketball Tournament has been held as a related project of the Kitakyushu Champions Cup International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, along with international tournaments and the National Block Selection Championship. Our company has been supporting the tournament since 2019.
This tournament is held every year as a team competition for fifth grade elementary school students in Kitakyushu City, which is the culmination of about half a year of playing wheelchair basketball. This is the 18th time the competition has been held, and five teams from four elementary schools in Kitakyushu City will be participating.
This unique activity allows children to try out wheelchair basketball, a parasport, as part of their school lessons. It not only helps them improve their competitive skills, but also teaches them to be considerate of others through the experience of using an unfamiliar wheelchair. This is a possible initiative.

Additionally, the PR event “Aeon de Parasport in Kitakyushu Let’s all support the Kitakyushu Champions Cup International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament!” was held to make more people aware of the tournament and create an opportunity to watch it. Co-sponsored with supporting Aeon Co., Ltd. We would also like to thank Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, which is also a sponsor of the event, for their cooperation.
At the event, we will increase support for the tournament and spread the appeal of wheelchair basketball through talk events and experience corners where you can get up close and personal with local athletes.
Morisawa will continue to support the success of the Kitakyushu Champions Cup and the Kitakyushu City Elementary School Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, in the hope that this will lead to a flexible understanding of diversity and rich growth among the children who will be responsible for the future, towards the realization of a universal society. .
