The vice mayor of Madrid, Inmaculada Sanz, stated this Wednesday that the City Council is talking to the National Football League (NFL) so that The Spanish capital may host an American football match next season.
The executive vice president of the NFL, Peter O’Reilly, reported that the American league contemplates Spain or Brazil as options to host a game in the 2024 season outside the United States.
In Spain, the options are divided between the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and the Metropolitan stadium, sports facilities “that are perfectly prepared to host this type of international spectacle,” Sanz stressed.
I think it is good news for Madrid that the NFL has shown interest in our city for an international event as important as an NFL game.
