• Almost a month ago, in the first match between the teams, “Mogo” came back from 0:2 at home and celebrated a 3:2 victory at the end of the regular time.
• Both teams have experienced two losses in the previous three games. “Kurbads” against HS “Rīga” (4:1) ended the streak of failures, but “Mogo” capitulated to the champion “Zemgale”/LBTU with 1:5 on Wednesday, losing the first three rounds.
• “Mogo” veteran Gints Meija (12+8) is convincingly the most productive player in the league, he is followed by Kaspars Ziemiņš (5+7) and David Sarkanis (6+5), but for “Kurbad” the only one with double-digit points is captain Artūrs Ozoliņš (5+5).
• 35-year-old Ozoliņš, having returned from the Alpine League, is spending the third season in a row in Latvia and is doing so already in the third different team – in 2021 he won the title with “Zemgali”, but last season he was one of the leaders of “Mogo” (in 30 games in the regular season 16+44, 5+10 in 12 playoffs).
• “Prizma” will also play an early home game, which will host “Hockey Punks” from Vilnius, who started the season with a point against “Kaunas City” (3:4 in the bullpen), but then lost eight times already in regular time. It will be the first match of the season.
• HS “Rīga” and Tallinn “Panter” will meet for the third time, which exchanged victories with 4:2 in Estonia in the middle of September.
• After eight home games and Wednesday’s success against “Prism” (4:2), this will be only the second trip of the season for the Estonians.
