On Tuesday, Josha Vagoman started team training for who knows how many times after an injury break. Stuttgart’s Mister umpteenth attempt is once again working on his comeback.

At the tender age of 17, Josha Vagnoman celebrated his professional debut in the Hamburger SV jersey against FC Bayern in March 2018. Nevertheless, the number of his appearances in professional football remained manageable: ten games in the Regionalliga Nord, eleven in the DFB Cup, 63 in the 2nd league and 24 in the Bundesliga for the Hanseatic League and VfB Stuttgart. There are also 19 in the DFB’s U teams and one international match for the A team.
In his still young career, the number of days that Vagnoman was injured add up to a horrendous number of around 700. Ligament and tendon injuries in the joints, severe and minor foot and thigh injuries, and bone edema. Which always resulted in arduous training and countless comeback attempts and comebacks.
At the moment Mister x-th attempt is fighting again for connection. The right-back has been on hold since the end of June due to a foot injury. In mid-September he joined the team for the first time after the long rehabilitation phase. With everyone involved hoping to be ready for action again ten to 14 days later. But there were always smaller setbacks, especially, as recently, muscular ones. Today Vagnoman started again and took part in parts of the team training. However, it is unlikely that they will play against Hoffenheim next Saturday.
The situation with Dan-Axel Zagadou is open. The Frenchman, who ended Saturday’s game at Union Berlin (3-0) with a hardened right hamstring, practiced individually today. But at least in running form.
However, there was still no sign of Fabian Bredlow, who was still suffering from hip problems and was in the weight room, and Serhou Guirassy. The striker is not expected to play until the 11th matchday against Borussia Dortmund following a torn muscle fiber in his left back thigh – at the earliest.
