Badajoz Basketball Starts the Season with a Loss: A Tough Start for Luis Sánchez’s Team

Badajoz Basketball

Badajoz Basketball starts the season on the wrong foot. The team led by Luis Sánchez debuted in official competition last weekend facing Ferial Plaza Guadalajara on their court, which won the match 61-44.

A great second half by the Caracas team tipped the game in their favor, despite the good first half performed by the Badajoz team. Even though Baloncesto Badajoz left with a seven-point deficit at the end of the first quarter, the light blue team improved its percentages and managed to go into halftime with the score tied at 23 points.

During the second half the dynamic of the game changed. Guadalajara adjusted in defense and managed to ensure that their rival could only score 12 points in the third quarter. The local team managed to find the basket more easily and the game went to the last period with a nine-point advantage in favor of Ferial.

The positive dynamics of the Guadalajara team continued in the last quarter. The effective defense once again left Baloncesto Badajoz with only nine points scored, compared to 17 for the Caracas players. Finally, the locals would end up scoring the victory 61-44.

Next week, Luis Sánchez’s girls will try to improve their feelings by achieving a victory in front of their home crowd. In front will be Montes Norte Cervantes Ciudad Real, who also could not add a victory in their league debut.
