Paula Badosa Defends Herself Against Accusations of Distracting Stefanos Tsitsipas

Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas are the dream couple of the tennis scene. But recently the Spaniard has been increasingly confronted with accusations online. The accusation: Badosa distracts her Greek partner too much, which affects his sporting performance.

Now Badosa hit back and resolutely defended himself against these allegations. “That really hit me hard. “I was actually able to look after him a lot and help him because of the whole injury thing,” said the 25-year-old in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais.

To explain: Badosa, who recently had to cancel some tournaments, is currently suffering from a back injury. Meanwhile, some of Tsitsipas’ fans on social media accused her of distracting her partner too much or even bringing her down. However, the Spaniard did not want to leave this alone.

“As you can see, I supported him on the pitch or went to the gym with him to help him,” stressed Badosa, adding: “Sometimes people are not able to understand how that affects you yourself or the relationship.”

The tennis player can understand that they are in public and “are exposed”. However, that in no way justifies the malicious social media posts. “At the end of the day, we’re two 25-year-old kids,” Badosa said.

Tsitsipas is having a decent season overall. although 51 wins are offset by 22 defeats. But this year he celebrated his first tournament victory in Los Cabos.

“I’m training more than ever before in my career. “I don’t want to prove anything to anyone but myself,” Tsitsipas recently said. “I want to prove to myself that I can get back to my best level. I believe.”
