Viewership records for women’s games – sport.ORF.at

The Women’s Champions League broke attendance records in 20 countries last season, according to UEFA official Nadine Keßler. This corresponds to the goal of “building a competition that serves the development of women’s football throughout Europe,” said the former German team player. With more than 700,000 spectators in total and more than 11,000 fans on average, the Champions League is the most attended women’s club competition in the world.

UEFA introduced group games in 2021, with TV broadcasts of all games, its own anthem and a total of around 24 million euros in prize money. Keßler refers to the world attendance record from 2022, when FC Barcelona and VfL Wolfsburg played in the semifinals in front of 91,648 fans. “Last season we had our first sell-out final in Eindhoven, after the best-attended season ever,” said UEFA’s executive director of women’s football.
