In view of the highly anticipated Val di Fassa Audi FIS Ski World Cup 2024 in February, where the elite of world skiing will compete in the Super G races, the Alpe Lusia San Pellegrino ski area inaugurates the winter season on December 2nd. The renowned La VolatA slope – together with Piavac, Le Coste and the other slopes protagonists of the Piste Azzurre della Val di Fassa project – is preparing to shine once again under the international spotlight, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to ski on slopes frequented by the greats champions, from Sofia Goggia and the other Azzurre to Peter Fill, Dominik Paris, Christof Innerhofer and other skiing stars.
Alpe Lusia San Pellegrino: over 100 km of slopes
Skiing on these elite slopes is even more extraordinary thanks to cutting-edge ski lifts and a highly efficient snowmaking system. Among this year’s innovations, the new ski bus loop stands out, an innovation that allows you to explore over 100 kilometers of slopes from Falcade to Moena, wearing skis or snowboards. A service designed to offer an exceptional experience on tracks with different degrees of difficulty, guaranteeing maximum comfort and ease of access to this extraordinary ski destination which extends between Trentino and Veneto, between Val di Fassa and Valle del Biois.
Skitour “Discover Alpe Lusia San Pellegrino”
The new ski bus will easily connect the valley station of the Ronchi cable car with the Costabella station, allowing visitors to undertake the “Discover Alpe Lusia San Pellegrino” ski tour across a variety of slopes suitable for all skill levels. From the more experienced who will tackle La VolatA and Piavac with its impressive initial walls, to the speed lovers on the Alfa Fischer slope, there are opportunities for everyone.
The “red” slopes such as Monzoni with its continuous changes in slope and Mediolanum, which starts from the splendid panoramic terrace of Le Cune at an altitude of 2214 m, offer further challenges and breathtaking landscapes. The Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino ski area therefore proves to be an ideal destination for young skiers too, with 5 school fields, 3 playgrounds and fun slopes for sleds and bobsleighs, as well as timed tracks and boardercross.
Alpe Lusia San Pellegrino for those who don’t ski
For those who don’t ski or for those who love softer experiences, snow activities include snowshoe excursions organized by local ski schools while the enchanting festively decorated centers of Moena, Soraga and Falcade show themselves in their most magical version with traditional markets Christmas. Moena is illuminated by the famous Fairy Markets and by a series of concerts until the Epiphany. From 7 December in Soraga, in the park in front of the parish church, you can walk among wooden houses in search of original gift ideas, wooden artefacts and delicious typical products. On 8 December, at 5.30pm, the tree is lit on the Falcade plain at the end of an afternoon of celebration and entertainment for the little ones (from 4pm). Canale d’Agordo and Caviola are also dressed to the nines.
A horseback ride in the picturesque Fuciade valley and the warm welcome of the numerous slope-side refuges complete the offer, making the Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino Ski Area the perfect destination for an escape full of sport and relaxation to share with family or friends.
