Stade Rochelais won at home with the offensive bonus point against Perpignan on Saturday, thanks in particular to a spectacular try from Pierre Bourgarit.
Opposed to Perpignan as part of the ninth day of Top 14, Stade Rochelais did not fare well against the Catalans. The Maritimes won by a large margin, with a score of 35 to 6. A victory in which Pierre Bourgarit played an important part.
In the 57th minute, the hooker scored his team’s third try. And how ! Taking advantage of a ruck zone, he grabbed the ball before going to flatten it with a dive that Florent Manaudou would not have denied. A try which would rather recall the trickery of a number 9, but which was indeed scored by the French international.
Questioned after the meeting by Canal +, Rochelais fullback Brice Dulin gently made fun of his teammate: “it’s a nice reading at that moment. It was light, it looked like a little prima ballerina! It’s rare to see “Burga” so ethereal. he laughed.
This victory allows the European champion to move up to ninth place in the Top 14.
