Melbourne – It only takes just under three weeks until the start of qualifying for the Australian Open in Melbourne. Austria’s tennis star Dominic Thiem is currently still top seed for the “preliminary tournament” of the first Grand Slam tournament in 2024. As number 98 in the ATP ranking, he missed out on making it into the 128 main draw by just one place, on the one hand because of places reserved for qualifiers, but also because of a number of players who use their protected ranking.
