With the support of the Sports Institute of the state of Chiapas headed by Tania Robles Velázquez, the 2nd State Indoor Archery Championship 2023 was held, called “Parachico Tournament 2023”, taking place in the “Chiapas de Corazón” auditorium, bringing together 45 archers from different clubs, who competed for three days with the aim of gaining experience and starting to add points for future events.
Cesar de Jesús Valls Santiago, coach and coordinator of the tournament, thanked the Sports Institute and its owner for the support to be able to hold this tournament, in addition to the openness to compete in other tournaments “it is up to us to continue putting all our effort and thus Chiapas excel in Archery.”
Valls Santiago stressed that today this sport has grown, since before there were only three archers and today there are more than 45 between 6 and 16 years old and this speaks of a good evolution, “I was from the first litter and now I take all of them “It has been a dream, and this 2024 we plan to go to all possible tournaments so that Chiapas resonates at the national level, since we have a great level compared to other states.”
That is why he stated, “this second tournament had the objective of the shooters gaining more confidence for the competition, since it is important to have continuous controls and not get stuck in a single score and also to be able to coexist with other archers shooting under the same scheme. pressure, that makes the difference between a good goalkeeper and an average goalkeeper.”
He added, “It is worth mentioning that Archery is a totally open sport, there is no age restriction, it is one of the most complete sports, both physically and mentally, and shooting an arrow is the best experience.” that you have and in addition to being practiced in other clubs, Indeporte also has a coach specialized in said sport.
After three days of competition, the shooters were awarded, congratulating each one for having taken part, since this is the beginning of their preparation with a view to becoming state selections for the next Conade 2024 Nationals, including representing Mexico .
