Nothing to do for Angri Pallacanestro, clearly beaten (52-90) within friendly walls by the undefeated league leaders Sirio Salerno. A decent first period wasn’t enough for coach Francesco Iannone’s girls. The grenadines take control of the match and dominate it until the final siren.
Good start from Angri, with a 5-0 all scored by Tolardo. The guests responded promptly with De Mitri, Orchi and Oliveira (5-10). Salerno’s forcing continues with Valerio and Silatsa for the 7-15, which forces coach Iannone into a forced time out. The music doesn’t change upon returning, with Sirio still flying at +13 with De Mitri (9-22). At the end Stoyanova and the positive Tolardo close the gap a bit (16-25). The plot is the same even in the second ten turns of the hand. Salerno runs with Silatsa and Oliveira for 18-33, which leads Angri to call a new suspension. The race seems already settled, despite Carcaterra’s willing attempts. Sirio shows all their superiority with Valerio, De Mitri and Silatsa for the 25-55 with which they return to the locker rooms.
In the second half there is practically no story. The traveling players continue to score repeatedly, with rather high percentages. Angri gradually disappears from the field. The 33-76 with which we go to the last quarter decrees the more than anticipated closing credits on the match.
