Under the leadership of head coach Mika Golubovičs, six training days will be held, in which 20 girls from nine Latvian sports schools and hockey clubs will participate.
The U-18 Women’s Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament will take place from January 15 to 21 in Heerenveen, the Netherlands. In this championship, the national teams of Kazakhstan, China, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Turkey will face the Latvian U18 women’s hockey team.
Within the tournament, the 1st place winners will play the 2025 tournament in the B group of Division I, while the team that takes the 6th place in 2025 will play in the B group of the II division.
The Latvian U18 women’s hockey team ended the year 2023 with test matches in Finland.
In the first game, the U18 team of “Kiekko Espoo” was defeated 5:4. The second game against Turku TPS adult women’s team Latvians ended with a draw 2:2. On the other hand, in the final game, the Latvian U18 women’s national team lost to the Helsinki “HIFK N&Jr” team with the result 2:7.
